JAMON IBERICO TOUR
Visit a boutique Iberian Ham producer dedicated to the production of “Jamon Iberico”.
There are only four regions across Spain that provide ideal natural environments for sustainable acorn-fed Iberian pig farming, and all are towards the southwest of Spain in Andalusia and Extremadura bordering Portugal.
One such producer is located in the Serrania de Ronda near Malaga and the elaboration of the Jamon encompasses all the phases of the process, from the raising of the pigs to the elaboration and curing of the different products. The Iberian pigs are bred and raised in three farms ranging from 56 to 114 hectares, with an average of one pig per hectare, which ensures maximum quality and also means that the production of Iberian products is very limited. In fact, the entire production of this family producer has been bought in its entirety by one of Malaga’s most famous tapas bars!
