Jerez lies in the so-called “Sherry Triangle” that is formed by the cities of Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the province of Cadiz.
Don’t let the outdated reputation of sherry fool you about Jerez. With the various styles on offer, from dry to sweet, you are sure to find a favourite, and be converted. Even though the white Albariza soil is unique to the region and Sherry, there is also some quality red and white wine to be found too (even though this is produced under the D/O Cadiz Appellation). Wine Tasting in Jerez with Tannin Trail includes a comprehensive Sherry tasting at a historic, but lesser know Sherry cellar, as well as red wine tasting at a visually striking cellar outside Jerez.
Sherry’s magnificence comes from the fact that “true Sherry” can ONLY be made in this one tiny corner of the planet. Many imitators across the world have tried to replicate the salty, nutty, and aromatic profile of sherry, and these sweet imitations are the ones that have tarnished the reputation of real sherry from Jerez. Only the unique winds, humidity, albariza soil and the seasonal changes in Andalucía give a singular character to the wines produced there.
Excellence day spent travelling around the beautiful Ronda. We went to 3 excellent wineries where we received a very personal and authentic experience in all. Easily the best tour that I have ever done!TripAdvisor
